DAVAO CITY ROXAS NIGHT MARKET | THE PLACE TO BE
Barbecue, potato chips on a stick, fried ice cream, grilled squid, popcorn!
These are just some of the delicious food you can find at Davao City's famous Roxas Night Market
After a very unfortunate bombing incident that happened in September 2016, the night market is better than ever thanks to the good governance of the city's officials.
Here's a video I made shot at Roxas Night Market during one of me and the husband's date nights. We personally love going to that place because we love to support local and small entrepreneurs and of course, FOOD FOOD and more FOOD

CAFE RIHANNA BY CAFE BLOUDAN - NEW HANG OUT PLACE IN TOWN
Davaoeños need not to spend thousand of pesos to book a trip to the Middle East just to taste authentic Arab Cuisine thanks to CAFE RIHANNA BY CAFE BLOUDAN.
CAFE RIHANNA BY CAFE BLOUDAN is an Authentic Arabic Restaurant that opened its doors last February 29, 2016. The small restaurant, aside from serving authentic Arab cuisine, also gives a Middle-Eastern feel with the decorations surrounding the place. The rugs, decors, etc used in the restaurant came from Saudi Arabia. Definitely adding up a Middle Eastern chill vibe to the place.
Here are some pictures of the decors inside the restaurant

DAVAO is READY to go WILD in Neon STYLE this 2016
Something very exciting is coming to town this weekend in Davao City and just in time for the month long celebration of ARAW ng DABAW.
What better way for Davao City to celebrate this annual special occasion than to celebrate it in COLORFUL STYLE on a weekend with VIBRANT FESTIVAL.
YES! VIBRANT PAINT and MUSIC FESTIVAL HAS FINALLY ARRIVED IN THE PHILIPPINES!
With regional stops in Bacolod and Manila, Vibrant Festival, in partnership with Manic Nightnings Production, will finally make its way in Davao City this March 12, 2016 (Saturday) --> 6 o'clock in the evening at the Lanang Business Park Davao for the 79th Araw ng Davao celebration. Davao peeps, as well as out of town visitors, will get to experience the ultimate NEON paint and BLACK LIGHT party while jamming to the fantastic heart-pumping, beats of international DJs Lera, Mid, and No Class, and also Davao’s very own DJs with the likes of DJs Law, Torch, Jin, Wacky, and Jack plus Manila’s DJ X-Factor and MC Victor Pring.
The event will also feature program highlights such as paint drum beaters, blacklight hour, and the Vibrant Angels. Other festival activities which will surely make everyone #gowildwithpaint include paint ball wars, the wall of reflection, the paint & glow station. Rave merchandise will also be sold during the event.
Vibrant is produced by Manila-based team, MADHATTER EVENTS, that stages nationwide music & paint festivals. Aside from being a productions company, they are also the only licensed Philippine distributor of cosmetically certified paint brand in the world. So there's no need to worry about getting a bit (or a lot) of paint splashed on during the event.
Imagine getting all of these for only 300 pesos...
Curious to know more about the Vibrant Festival 2016? Check them out at https://www.facebook.com/vibrantfest/ and follow @vibrantfest on Twitter and Instagram.
DAVAO CITY, turn up your party spirits... let's go party... let's #GOWILDWITHPAINT and be prepared for a colorful weekend ahead, literally and figuratively (wink).

Happy Skin Beauty Caravan in Davao City
Oh Make-up! AHHHH sweet sweet make-up! Okay, let's get a bit honest here. Even if we say that true beauty is measured when a woman does not wear make-up and she still looks pretty then, well... I'm sure that woman still needs a little bit of help here and there.
Now I'm not talking about the real deal heavy make-up that we usually see during formal events like the Oscars, the Star Magic Ball or the like... I'm talking about the everyday make-up that the average woman wears to work, school, errands like buying the groceries, fetching the kids from school, etc.
Yes, even those simple times, who does not want to feel pretty?
Before, I was not really a fan of make-up until somebody told me I looked like a zombie while working as a teller. So my boss told me to wear a bit of make-up. I had a few imperfections here and there that were really visible because I had fair skin. But with the help of little make-up, I was a zombie-like no more.
I have been using make-up since I started working in a bank (I used to be a teller, so looking pretty or decent and not zombie-like was a must).
I was one of the excited ones when I found out that HAPPY SKIN's beauty caravan has reached Davao City. And well, who better to give the best make-up tips is the one and only LOURD RAMOS - beauty specialist, master make-up artist, and also known as one of the guest judges of the famous show, AMERICA's NEXT TOP MODEL.
all the happiness right here :) HELLO!
The Beauty Caravan took place in two days at three different CHIMES locations - Feb 5 in Chimes Special Store in Sales Street, Feb 6 in Felcris Centrale and Abreeza Mall. During those two days, Lourd Ramos was able to share a bunch of helpful tips to Davaoeñas on how to properly put make-up and also with the help of Happy Skin products.
I was one of the lucky ones to be invited to the Beauty Caravan in Felcris Centrale. While waiting for the one and only Lourd Ramos, I went around the store and looked at the different products of Happy Skin. I seriously wanted to buy everything!!!!

Hello Maam Rara :) - one of the lucky ones chosen by Lourd to be his model (during this time, he gave tips on making eyebrows look better and fuller)
lots of fans/students
Time flew so fast during the event that I didn't realize that we were listening to Sir Lourd Ramos for more than 2 hours. I enjoyed every moment of his "lectures" and I learned a lot as well. While using various products of Happy Skin on his models, not only did he just put these one them but he also explained how these products came to be.
Happy Skin products were carefully thought of here in the Philippines. After the conceptualizing stage, the ideas were sent to Japan for product actualization. Afterwards, the products were sent to China for packaging, and were sent to America for testing and finalization. Then, the products are sent back to the Philippines and it is what we all know now as HAPPY SKIN. This is really something to be proud of because Happy Skin products are definitely Philippine made and is formulated for the Filipina skin.
Sir Lourd Ramos personally checks the products before launching these. He even told us that a product may take months before approval because he really checks if it suits the Filipina Skin. Happy Skin products were really thought and made with the love for beauty.
Even the brushes of Happy Skin are not the usual textured brushes we buy in beauty stores. The brushes are really soft that it does not irritate the skin. Tendency of some brushes is that some can cause skin irritation because the hair may be too rough for the skin. That is not a problem with Happy Skin brushes because the hair used is really soft and also easy to wash and dry. Oh, and these brushes are synthetic bristles so there was no harm done on our furry friends while these were made.
Other products also presented by Lourd was their ZZ cream, Eye liner Gel Pencils, Lippies of various colors that were definitely to die for! While Lourd Ramos was presenting these products, he told us that it was definitely NO when it comes of hoarding ( he narrated what happened the previous day when a lady, even before his beauty lecture ended, was slowly hoarding Happy Skin products behind him) and he said that everybody should share. Haha... :)

My personal faves would have to be 1.) the lippies - the lippies that Happy Skin has contains Shea Butter & Collagen that contributes to make lips more supple, hydrated and ultra - kissable. ehem ehem. What colors do I like? Uhm, Can I just say like ALL OF THEM??? :) hehe! 2.) Eye Am Here To Stay Gel Pencil Auto Liner - made with Argan oil that glides smoothly on the skin without the worry of drying out the lash line (which I know we hate) and 3.) Lip & Cheek Mousse - two in one baybeh! it's a product that works both ways and with this, we need not bring a lippy and a blush on... just this one and we are good to go! Oh, this has shea butter and collagen content too.

Overall, I could say that the Beauty Caravan was definitely a success. And it was really nice of sir Lourd Ramos to impart his knowledge on make-up and why Happy Skin can really make the Filipinas' skins HAPPY :)
Happy Skin definitely lives up to its name :)
Sir Lourd Ramos, I am definitely a fan.

GANDIVA ARCHERY now in DAVAO CITY
If there is one movie that I love to watch over and over again, that would be Robin Hood: Men in Tights
I have always enjoyed the comedy, humor of the characters, the acting skills and of course... the ARCHERY involved in this movie. Whenever I watch this, I also imagined myself aiming and shooting an arrow at somebody I dislike. HAHA! Just kidding. Okay it's half meant! (minus wearing tights)
When my friend Louie went to Manila last year, he told us that he and his girlfriend, Nikki, were able to try Archery. I was shocked that archery was already in the Philippines. And to be honest, I was a bit jealous... that has always been my secret dream to... again... shoot somebody with an arrow. HAHA... again!
Oh boy! You have absolutely no idea how happy I was when I found out that GANDIVA ARCHERY finally arrived in Davao City. Gandiva Archery first opened at the SM Mall of Asia in Manila in 2009. Roughly 6 years later, the company decided to expand and has chosen Davao City to house its first provincial branch.
An added bonus for me is that it is in GMALL, just literally 5 minutes away from where I live.
I was one of the lucky bloggers who got an invite to the Grand Opening of Gandiva Archery last January 09, 2016. I was really excited. I had to get my hands on a Bow and Arrow.
finally here! yeay!

Of course, with the ever supportive husband
After I posted this picture on Instagram and shared it on Facebook, a lot of my friends, relatives, acquaintances PM'd/sent me a text message asking details about Gandiva Archery. That alone shows that Davaoeños are really interested in trying archery out. Go guys!

Hey who knows, the opening of Gandiva Archery in Davao might even make way for future Professional Davaoeño Archers slash Future Robin Hoods and Katniss Everdeens. Just be careful though. Haha.
Gandiva Archery Range Davao is located at the Fourth Level Adventure Zone, Gaisano Mall of Davao, JP Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City.
For inquiries and bookings, you may email davao@gandiva.com.ph or call (082) 296-7011; or look for Crystal "Casey" Diy - 09178784190 (casey@gandiva.com.ph)
