APL DE AP, together with THAMES
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS SCHOOL is teaming up to help ignite the Creative
Industry in Davao City by awarding scholarship both for undergraduates and
creative professionals.
On Independence day of 2018, Apl de Ap
visited Davao City together with Thames International Business School
President, Mr. Joel Santos, to share the recently launched CREATIVE INNOVATORS
PROGRAMME. They invited many creative and artists of the city to talk about
their program and invited them to apply for the INNOVATION AND CREATIVE
ENTERPRISE scholarships of Thames International and Apl de Ap Foundation.
The scholarship are open to those who are
want to be a part of the creative industry and is also open to individuals who
are already professionals and currently working on the creative industry such
as painters, graphic artists, singers, etc.
Apl de Ap expressed his determination to do
such as he sees a lot of potential in so many Filipinos.
“The Filipinos are naturally creative and
super innovative. It only makes sense that we embrace the creative industries.
These raw potentials can be maximized by training & education supported by
creative hubs and investments. Through the Thames Scholarships, we hope to
transform our artists into creative entrepreneurs. Together with the British
Council, DTI, Design Center and PTTC, we aim to be a catalyst to the Creative
Industry in the Philippines.” – APL DE AP.
An Open call for application of Creative
Hub Fellows will run nationally from June 8, 2018 to July 8, 2018. A total of
fifteen (15) creative hub managers will be selected to be a part of the
fellowship. Aside from this, a scholarship for 40 creative entrepreneurs, which
will be funded by the Apl.de.Ap Foundation and Thames International will also
be offered through this program.
About the scholarships:
1.
Twenty scholarships for
undergraduate degrees in B.S. Entrepreneurship of B.A. Communications
a.
Both degrees have a focus on
Creative Enterprise. The scholars will be trained to succeed in their start-up
with the twin goal of hiring artists and creative.
b.
A 3-year program starting in
both August or November 2018
c.
This full scholarship is
equivalent to USD 15,000.
2.
Twenty scholarship for
Professional Diplomas in Innovation and Creative Enterprise
a.
A 9 – month part-time program
for working individuals. It combines business, innovation and creative thinking
skills. The program starts in October 2018.
b.
The scholarship is worth USD
3,000.
