I write random musings to keep me sane and my intelligence intact: paymaya

So last month, I was so psyched about winning PayMaya credits from our Davao Bloggers Christmas party. An added bonus is learning more about the app and what it has to offer. I really like the fact that it is an on-the-go-and-no-need-for-credit-card app that allows us to purchase online.

This month, another news that made my husband and I jump for joy is that... drum roll plsssss... NETFLIX is now in the PHilippines :)

I have heard about NETFLIX already from a bunch of friends who live abroad. I have also read several blogs about it and comments from Filipinos wishing that it would be available in the Philippines soon.

Well, that soon has just arrived, and Filipinos can now avail and subscribe to Netflix to watch thousands of popular movies and TV shows.

Now the next question is how to pay for it? What if I don't have a credit card?

Well, if you get a credit card, it's gonna take a while for it to get approved.

Here is where PAYMAYA steps in

Enjoy Netflix now with PayMaya

It is almost a universal truth that watching movies and TV shows is a common pastime for Filipinos. With the recent release of Netflix to more than 130 new countries around the world, including the Philippines, Filipinos can now enjoy streaming thousands of popular movies and TV shows from Netflix such as the Batman Trilogy or How to Get Away with Murder on their devices - even without a credit card, thanks to the leading digital payments app PayMaya.

Watch unlimited movies & TV shows on Netflix

Netflix is an internet TV service that lets you instantly watch unlimited movies and TV show episodes, including original series, documentaries, and feature films, anytime, anywhere, over almost any Internet-connected device without commercials. As per their announcement, there are three plans available, with the minimum at P370 for the Basic Plan, P460 for the Standard Plan and P550 for the Premium Plan.

Subscribers get 1 free month to try the ultimate binge watching experience and can cancel their subscription anytime. Payments for subscriptions however, can only be made through credit card or PayPal. So for the movie buffs and tv show aficionados who don’t have their own credit card or a PayPal account, this is where you can use PayMaya.

Subscribe to Netflix without a credit card

Developed by PayMaya Philippines (formerly Smart eMoney, Inc.), the digital financial services unit of PLDT and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), PayMaya is an online payment app that generates your own instant virtual prepaid Visa on the app which you can then use to subscribe to Netflix.

All you have to do is to go to the Google Play Store or App Store, download the PayMaya mobile app, and register with any mobile number. Once you have a PayMaya account, you’ll see your own virtual Visa on the app which contains your card number, security code or CVV, and the expiration date--all the details you need for making online payments.

Before you can use your PayMaya account, you must first load it up at PayMaya Load-Up Centers at 7-Eleven Cliqq kiosks, SM Business Centers, and Robinson’s Business Centers. Once you have reloaded your PayMaya account with funds, you can then go ahead and use it to pay for your Netflix subscription. As PayMaya is a prepaid Visa card, Netflix will just deduct a minimum amount equivalent to one month subscription to validate your payment account. PayMaya can be used for recurrent payments such as Netflix, just be sure to reload your account in time for the next billing period.

"With PayMaya, we're opening the doors to the digital life to Filipinos who don't have credit cards by enabling access to services such as Netflix," said Paolo Azzola, co-Chief Operating Officer at PayMaya Philippines.

Don’t miss out on the fun

Movies and TV shows are a common bonding point between people. Whether it’s meeting someone new, catching up with old friends, or bonding with the people you love, the stories you watch will always be something you can talk about. It’s also an inexpensive but a guaranteed fun way to get together.

So whether you get comfortable on your own with a series and some snacks or invite friends over for dinner and a movie marathon, Netflix will bring your entertainment to the next level - all with the help of your PayMaya account.

So for those who want to subscribe to Netflix but don't want the hassle of getting a credit card, getting your credit card out of your wallet, and basically whose phone is basically glued to your hand, PAYMAYA is the app for you.

Enjoy NETFLIXERS :)
