Heng Kee Dimsum at Gaisano Mall of Davao

Okay Davaoeños... by now, most of us are already familiar with the dimsum restaurant Caitlyn's Dimsum House, right? Well, here's some good news for all of us.


The owners' of Caitlyn's Dimsum House has just rented out a generous space in the new annex of the Food Hall of Gaisano Mall of Davao using the name  

HENG KEE DIMSUM

Fear not, Caitlyn's is still in operation. Heng Kee Dimsum has the same mouth watering dimsum delectables as with Caitlyn's Dimsum House but the difference is that Heng Kee Dimsum is the one that's available for franchise. Caitlyn's, on the other hand, will still remain as Caitlyn's Dimsum House.

What's good about this expansion is that Heng Kee Dimsum is situated inside a mall which makes it more convenient for people to try their place out.

VERDICT: I LOVE THEM ALL! I'm actually a fan of dimsum and I was not at all disappointed with Heng Kee Dimsum. Oh and check out their prices! Inexpensive, eh? Who says getting a good dimsum dining experience is expensive? Not with Heng Kee Dimsum. Gonna come back for sure :)

Happy Skin Beauty Caravan in Davao City

Oh Make-up! AHHHH sweet sweet make-up! Okay, let's get a bit honest here. Even if we say that true beauty is measured when a woman does not wear make-up and she still looks pretty then, well... I'm sure that woman still needs a little bit of help here and there.

Now I'm not talking about the real deal heavy make-up that we usually see during formal events like the Oscars, the Star Magic Ball or the like... I'm talking about the everyday make-up that the average woman wears to work, school, errands like buying the groceries, fetching the kids from school, etc.

Yes, even those simple times, who does not want to feel pretty? 

Before, I was not really a fan of make-up until somebody told me I looked like a zombie while working as a teller. So my boss told me to wear a bit of make-up. I had a few imperfections here and there that were really visible because I had fair skin. But with the help of little make-up, I was a zombie-like no more.

I have been using make-up since I started working in a bank (I used to be a teller, so looking pretty or decent and not zombie-like was a must). 

I was one of the excited ones when I found out that HAPPY SKIN's beauty caravan has reached Davao City. And well, who better to give the best make-up tips is the one and only LOURD RAMOS - beauty specialist, master make-up artist, and also known as one of the guest judges of the famous show, AMERICA's NEXT TOP MODEL.

The Beauty Caravan took place in two days at three different CHIMES locations - Feb 5 in Chimes Special Store in Sales Street, Feb 6 in Felcris Centrale and Abreeza Mall. During those two days, Lourd Ramos was able to share a bunch of helpful tips to Davaoeñas on how to properly put make-up and also with the help of Happy Skin products.

I was one of the lucky ones to be invited to the Beauty Caravan in Felcris Centrale. While waiting for the one and only Lourd Ramos, I went around the store and looked at the different products of Happy Skin. I seriously wanted to buy everything!!!!

Time flew so fast during the event that I didn't realize that we were listening to Sir Lourd Ramos for more than 2 hours. I enjoyed every moment of his "lectures" and I learned a lot as well. While using various products of Happy Skin on his models, not only did he just put these one them but he also explained how these products came to be.

Happy Skin products were carefully thought of here in the Philippines. After the conceptualizing stage, the ideas were sent to Japan for product actualization. Afterwards, the products were sent to China for packaging, and were sent to America for testing and finalization. Then, the products are sent back to the Philippines and it is what we all know now as HAPPY SKIN. This is really something to be proud of because Happy Skin products are definitely Philippine made and is formulated for the Filipina skin.

Sir Lourd Ramos personally checks the products before launching these. He even told us that a product may take months before approval because he really checks if it suits the Filipina Skin. Happy Skin products were really thought and made with the love for beauty.

Even the brushes of Happy Skin are not the usual textured brushes we buy in beauty stores. The brushes are really soft that it does not irritate the skin. Tendency of some brushes is that some can cause skin irritation because the hair may be too rough for the skin. That is not a problem with Happy Skin brushes because the hair used is really soft and also easy to wash and dry. Oh, and these brushes are synthetic bristles so there was no harm done on our furry friends while these were made.

Other products also presented by Lourd was their ZZ cream, Eye liner Gel Pencils, Lippies of various colors that were definitely to die for! While Lourd Ramos was presenting these products, he told us that it was definitely NO when it comes of hoarding ( he narrated what happened the previous day when a lady, even before his beauty lecture ended, was slowly hoarding Happy Skin products behind him) and he said that everybody should share. Haha... :)

Eye Am Here To Stay Gel Pencil Auto Liner - made with Argan oil that glides smoothly on the skin without the worry of drying out the lash line (which I know we hate) and 3.) Lip & Cheek Mousse - two in one baybeh! it's a product that works both ways and with this, we need not bring a lippy and a blush on... just this one and we are good to go! Overall, I could say that the Beauty Caravan was definitely a success. And it was really nice of sir Lourd Ramos to impart his knowledge on make-up and why Happy Skin can really make the Filipinas' skins HAPPY :)

SAVINGS = SALARY - EXPENSES

So what's next? I mean having savings and all? Spend it all? of course not!

I have been working as a banker for 5 years now. Every time I receive my salary, I make sure I save a fraction of it. And that fraction, as the years went by, grew and grew and I'm proud to say that I have saved a lot of my hard earned money already.

It is in this wall where they white their very own definition of Financial Freedom. This simple activity helped a lot of people to stop, think and think some more on what must be done to achieve such financial freedom in the future.

Aside from this, Sun Life advisors were also on hand to assist those eager to start their journey to financial freedom. These Sun Life advisors were ready to provide the necessary information needed to help attain financial freedom and answer the questions of the potential clients.

On the last day of the caravan, Sun Life gave a bonus to Davaoeños - and that is the Freedom Celebration concert that featured non other than Financial Freedom Ambassadors (Father and Son Tandem) Piolo and Iñigo Pascual.

Let me just say that it was a good move that Sun Life chose these two very handsome celebrities to be their Financial Freedom Ambassadors. During the press conference held at Seda Hotel, Davao City before their concert, Piolo and Iñigo Pascual talked about how important having financial freedom and why preparing for the future is indeed important, how Sun Life has helped them and what having Sun Life plans mean to them. Iñigo Pascual, who is a showbiz newbie and just started earning his own money, told the press that his father helped in guiding him on what to do with his hard earned money by advising him on not to spend it all on just anything but also saving and investing that hard earned money as well. Piolo, when asked about what Sun Life plan does he have, he said that he already has a lot and he gets around 2 or 3 new Sun Life plans per year depending on the products.
