OOTD: Doggies, Ombre Jeans and some Pop of Color!

If it was raining cats and dogs yesterday, today is just the opposite! It's so hot and by how I mean over the top HOT that after leaving the house for a couple of seconds, my skin started to hurt. UGH!

So I opted to wear something more comfy and light for today. Definitely my choice of color was white because it's a more suitable color during weather conditions such as this one.

Top: White See through top that I bought in Bangkok last year (super cheap btw!)

Top details: I think this is a Boston Terrier design on the shirt

Bottom: Black and White Ombre Jeans that I bought from NCCC Department Store

Accessory of the day: Bracelet given to me by my friend, Xiena for Christmas 2014

My boyfriend, Mark, strongly expressed his indifference towards my pants. Haha! He said it was as if I was wearing shorts and that the pants were not totally bleached. Well DUH! That's the whole point of the design. OMBRE baybeh! Whatever... I love this pair.

I added a pop of color to the whole black and white ensember by wearing this pair of glittery Blue flats that I bought in Abreeza last December 2013 - yes, I can still remember when and where I bought some of my stuff. I do this so as not to make the outfit look boring.

I felt fresh all throughout the day! My advice: Check the weather and pick the outfit that would best suit it and make you comfortable the whole day. What I do is if it's really hot, I wear light colored tops, and medium to dark colors when it's a bit chilly. Oh, and don't forget to bring an umbrella, a staple whether it be sunny or if it's raining.

And allow me to mention that the outfit is also in perfect timing because the OOTD video I made for YOUTUBE features my dog - although my dog isn't a Boston Terrier. Hahahaha. Check me and my baby out!

When it rains....

View outside the office

The rain came as a surprise to me today. Weather has been quite hot for the past few days, weeks even. Then I woke up 4 in the morning to hear raindrops against the roof. Went back to sleep thinking it would stop by 5:30... NOPE! It didn't. 7 am  - still raining! 8 o'clock? STILL RAINING! hahahaha... The thing about rain is that not only do people move slowly, but vehicles as well to avoid accidents since roads are slippery and all. I left home at the usual time but I arrived at the office nearly 2 minutes before 8:30. Close call!

Good thing it's Friday and I'm wearing pants. And of course, it is advisable to wear a jacket/sweater when it's raining - a rainy fashion staple. Like the one I wore today - My favorite Animal Print Jacket that I have had since college.

Forgive this shot... putting emphasis on the jacket, and not on my face

And when it rains, there's a line up of umbrellas inside the pantry, waiting to be dried.

The weather was in full timing though since today was the day declared by MalacaƱang as National Day of Mourning for the slain PNP-SAF Men who fought in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last August 25, 2014. It was as if the weather in Davao City was mourning together with the nation. Praying for the families of our fallen heroes. This is just sad.

Let respect and peace prevail. No more hate please.

Random Act of Kindness (RAOK) 01/28/2015

I have always had this problem of me not being able to finish my food. Yesterday, it happened to me once again.

I ordered PALABOK from my officemate's mother. It was so yummy but I was only able to finish like one-fourth of it.

I never throw food away. That's a big no-no! What I usually do is that I keep my food until I get home and give it to my dog but then I realized that aside from the fact that the Palabok would be spoiled by the time I get home, my dog has the luxury of eating more than three times a day. Some people don't even have this.

So I thought about giving my Palabok to somebody who probably hasn't even eaten yet... to somebody who is not able to eat three times a day.

This is what I did (video)

I had lots of work but I survived the day with a happy heart because of this.

Let's do good deeds everyday. Be a blessing to others.

Cleaning out my closet

So it was one fine Sunday when I had nothing to do at home. I was bored as ever and there were no good shows on televisions. So I decided to check my closet out and clean some stuff up (which was so not like me because I am usually lazy during weekends, haha!)

It was a good decision to do so because I "unearthed" clothes that I have not seen in ages! As I was rummaging through my pile of clothing that apparently became unnoticed for a year or so, I found these clothes that I could definitely use today!

Small photos up ahead!

White Ruffled Halter Top
Black and Blue Sweetheart Peplum Dress (I think I wore this during Valentines Day 2013)
Pink Floral Off Shoulder Top I got for my 13th Birthday

Denim Cut offs (these were actually from jeans that I owned back in High School)

These are just some of the clothes that I recently discovered to still be of use, based on my size today. Hahahahaha.

Anyway, I'm glad I cleaned my closet because this is what the pile of clothes looked like before I decided to do some minor arranging.

I stored them in a big IBOX and this is the aftermath :)

Cleaning up isn't so bad after all. I guess something good also comes out of it :)

How to kill a cockroach

I know a lot of you are with me on this... but I really, strongly HATE cockroaches. Ugh, the thought about them just really gives me goosebumps and make me soooo angry!

I hated cockroaches since I was a kid. These creatures are everywhere! Even if you think you have cleaned your house so well to tip top shape and have it all sparkly, well sorry to disappoint you but they still exist even in the cleanest of places. They breed so fast and so many that they could even rule the world with their population! Okay, now that's me being all silly about this conspiracy theory. Back to the topic.

Anyway, I discovered this method when my sister did this. Between me and her, she was the type who was not at all scared of cockroaches. When she sees one, she even had the guts to just step on it. And just wash her feet afterwards. I couldn't even bare looking at one! So there was this one time when she saw a cockroach at our kitchen, I ran immediately to go on top of a chair, while she went to her room, got an alcohol and splashed it on the cockroach. It died after a few seconds while basking on the alcohol.

So I tried this method when I saw a cockroach on my room. I had it on video so here's what happened - in the video, the effect of the alcohol on the cockroach was strongly visible.

See? That's why I keep a stock full of this on my cabinet. Hahahahaha. JUST IN CASE!!!!!

So if you hate cockroaches as much as I do, go to your nearest grocery store and buy this... lots of it!

Not only does it sanitize but it protects ;) *wink wink*

OOTD: Colorful Saturday plus term change on "LAZY OOTD"

Hello! Here's another one of my so-called "LAZY OOTDs" - I think I should stop calling it LAZY because it is not really about me not having energy that's why I choose to wear outfits like this but it should be more like "LAIDBACK". So yeah, I dub thee "LAIDBACK OOTD" starting tuh-day!

Soooo for today, I decided to wear this oversized color block blouse that I bought online three years ago for only Php 180. It was such a steal! I just love the color combination on the blouse. Paired it with the Navy Blue leggings I bought from Jakarta last 2013.

A closer look at the color detail of the blouse

Again, paired with the Tiger Face detailed slippers that is currently my slipper peeve.

I actually have another blouse like this one but of different colors. I haven't worn that in a while so maybe next week? Hahaha probably next week I'll just post about it if ever.

Oh and this blouse could be nicely paired with a tight fitting belt to show the curves. But I prefer it hanging out this way so as not to pressure me of having to make my tummy small. Plus, it won't show a big belly after eating a full loaded meal. Haha!

My LAID-BACK OOTD... bow!

OOTD: Distressed Tops on a Sunday

Ahhh yes another lazy yet comfy ootd for me on a Sunday

Anybody who knows me would really notice that I am fond of wearing oversized tops over fitted bottoms such as this pair of leggings

The top that I wore was something that I bought before I graduated college 5 years ago at a local mall which only costs Php 199. It has a distressed style on the upper arm area which made me attracted to it.

loving the style of this top

WOTD: watch of the day - to match my slippers

slipper detail (tiger face) I have noticed this to be popular in fashion since last year

"TOFRESH"

excuse my dog making a stretch while mommy does a pose

I don't have any idea what the word on my top means "TOFRESH" but this top is just one of my faves.

I need more tops like this that have a unique design and something that I could just wear without having second thoughts. It's not that I don't like dressing up that 's why I go for "lazy" ootds but because I think clothes like this are still chic and stylish without really trying too hard. And that's what I go for.

OOTD: Lazy Saturday

I think I have mentioned countless times before that I am really in love with clothes that can be used for layering...

Here is another one of my kimono slash cover up collections

I bought this at Abreeza Department Store three years ago. And believe it or not, it was actually the first time that I used it. (That's how many clothes I have. Some I even tend to forget that I even own! Haha!)

closer look at my animal-print ish cover up that can also be used to cover up swimwear :)

oh and my bracelet for the day

Monea Curl Defining Cream

I have been using this product since I had my hair permed last year. My friend suggested this to me as it worked for her when her hair was still curly. (she now has straight and fab hair!)

First time I used it, I was amazed because the product isn't that sticky unlike the other mouses I have tried before that leaves an icky feeling on the hands after use. Its texture is like that of a lotion and it smells pretty good too.

What I do is that I apply it when my hair is wet. I put Monea on the area where my curls are, I scrunch my hair, have it dried using an electric fan (I personally don't like using a hair dryer) and I actually achieve the curls that I want day to day.

at the bottom, the expiry date can be found

I wanna thank the person that invented this product. I love it to bits! I even bought a lot of bottles in advance and have them on stock at home. Hahahaha!

Must use for those who have permed hair and want their curls to be defined day to day.

Food Trip: Throwback Review of Paisano's Pizzeria in Hong Kong

Mark and I went to Hong Kong last year. Prior to our trip, I stumbled upon this blog about Paisano's Pizzeria on the internet.

I told my friend Olga, who currently works in Hong Kong, if she knew where that resto is situated. Good thing she did! So it was definitely part of our Day 1 itinerary.

I became very interested in trying out this place because of the HUGE pizza slices that they served. The blogger even said that it was really worth it. So if somebody said it was worth it, then it's worth a shot for me.

I actually mentioned this on my blog about our HK Trip but I never really said a lot about the resto.

and true enough... SLICES WERE REALLY HUGE! I barely even finished mine!

THE MENU

If ever you're in Hong Kong and wanna eat somewhere worth it, then this is definitely one of the places to go to. Include it in your itinerary I guarantee this place is worth it. It was worth it for me because the prices are already okay... and I am also a pizza fan. Hong Kong prices aren't the same as Philippine standards but this place is already okay plus the servings were already big.

Coming back? Oh yeah! If I go back to HK, I'm going back here for sure :)
